Use AmazonSmile to make a purchase and donate to your favorite cause.

Calling all Amazon addicts!

Amazon addict, here.

I'm usually skeptical when an organization promises to donate money to a cause of my choosing, but I've gotta say: Amazon does it right.

You don't have to sign up for anything, give out your email address, or give extra money.

When you visit AmazonSmile, you just choose your organization, shop, and Amazon takes care of their part (donating a portion of your purchase to your selected organization).

I'm super excited because they offer a ton of organizations to choose from, large and small. Even one of my hometown favorites, Humane Society of Northeast Texas, accepts donations.

Look up some causes you love, or check out local nonprofits.

Note: None of the links on this page are affiliate links. Seriously, go check out this awesomeness that is AmazonSmile. It's no different from shopping on Amazon, except you have to use the specific AmazonSmile link.

Check out how easy it is!

  • Visit AmazonSmile website

All you have to do is type into your browser, or check out their page here.

  • Choose your cause

When you log in and arrive on the home page, AmazonSmile will offer you a few big-name nonprofits to choose from. Feel free to select one of these or use their search tool to choose another option you totally love. I was delighted to see small and local, as well as large and national, nonprofits available.

  • Shop as usual

You don't have to change anything else! Add goodies to your cart as usual, make your purchase, and AmazonSmile will give a portion of your purchase to the organization you selected.

  • Check back to see your impact

After you've made your purchase, you can always check back on AmazonSmile to view how much your purchases have helped your organization. It might take a couple of days to post and update on their website, but it will be there.

Wow – cool tip! It is great to see a little bit of every purchase going to help animal shelters (or whatever other cause you choose). Thanks, Hannah!

Though I was skeptical at first, it is an awesome feeling to see a few bucks of your Amazon purchases sent to your favorite cause. I’m glad you enjoyed the tip, Jay!
